QB 2006 Support Notice for Qxtender

1. Export Mode using files exported from QuickBooks® 2006 has been verified to work correctly with Qxtender Plugins after minor modifications. Please update to the latest Plugin versions to gain this functionality. See the "Using this Plugin" section of the online User Guide for your Plugin for instructions on using Export Mode.

2. Qxtender's Direct Mode access has relied on a 3rd party component to read QB data files through version 2005. The QuickBooks data engine structure and format has been changed dramatically beginning with QB 2006. Due to this change, which includes strong encryption, the new format data files cannot be read directly. We are currently working on a new method for Qxtender to directly access QB 2006 data through the QB interface. We expect to release more information on this in December.

Direct Mode will continue to function as before with QB 2005 and earlier data files.

For the time being, QB company data files that have been upgraded to QB 2006 version will only be usable via Export Mode with our Plugins.

Due to the Jan 31 deadline for many State reports, we cannot guarantee that we will have the new data access method for Qxtender ready in time to file your 4th quarter for QB 2006 data files. We strongly recommend not upgrading QB until after filing your return, or use Qxtender's Export Mode (see above).
