Qxtender - User Guide - Known Problems & Workarounds
- Under Windows 2000 & XP, Qxtender must be installed by a user with administrator rights. Under Windows Vista/Win7/8/10, the same is true, but a request for elevation to administrator rights will appear if UAC (User Account Control) is enabled.
- Under Windows 2000, XP, Vista & higher, Qxtender and Plugins can be used by users with Standard User access rights.
- Under Windows 2000 & XP, Online Updates of Qxtender and Plugins must be performed by a user with administrator rights. Under Windows Vista & higher, the same is true, but a request for elevation to administrator rights will appear if UAC (User Account Control) is enabled.
- Multiple users attempting to run the Qxtender Plugins from a network drive will receive a "Hardware has changed - please re-enter your registration key" message. Although Qxtender works fine in a network environment, and can access files anywhere on the network, the application itself must be installed on each workstation that will run it.
